PROFICIENCY EXAM FOR STUDENTS (Non-AP)
The ACTFL Latin Interpretive Reading Assessment (ALIRA) is a computer-adaptive test that assesses students' ability to read and comprehend a variety of Latin-language texts. Rated according to the ACTFL Performance Descriptors for Language Learners, it is designed for middle and high school aged students. It qualifies students for the Seal of Biliteracy, as well as other purposes.

This year a new certificate of commendation will be available to teachers to further recognize their students who win honors in the NLE. The National Committee for Latin and Greek has created this letter to further commend students and to encourage and motivate them to continue their studies.
